Arms sales to the Middle East - contact your MP

The UK has sold tear gas, crowd control ammunition and fire arms to Bahrain and Libya in the last year. While UK weapons were being used against civilians, a UK government department and David Cameron were promoting more weapons sales to the Middle East. This is NOT OK. The government is still promoting weapons sales to authoritarian regimes today, including to countries like Bahrain where violent repression continues. It even invited Bahrain (and 13 other authoritarian regimes) to the DSEi arms fair in London this September.

Many MPs are pressuring the government for change. Please ask your MP to join them by signing EDM 2166, which calls on the Government to end the export of military equipment to authoritarian regimes. It takes just a minute with this model letter but if you have more time, please add your own message to make your action even more effective.
