Disarm the Gallery

The National Gallery is one of our most iconic public institutions. It is also supporting the arms trade. The gallery regularly hosts evening events for arms dealers seeking to impress their clients with drinks and dinners in its lavish surroundings. Arms company Finmeccanica buys this privilege for only £30,000 a year.

Public pressure can make the Gallery reconsider. After receiving hundreds of letters condemning its support for arms fairs, the Gallery has said it will not host a reception for arms dealers during this July's Farnborough Airshow. Now we need to keep up the pressure until it ends all support for the arms trade.

The Gallery's Director Nicholas Penny can choose to reject controversial sponsorship. Please write to him today.
